Shahram Shirani

Principle Investigator

Dr. Shahram Shirani received his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology, Iran, and his Master of Science (with honor) in Biomedical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology, Iran and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from University of British Columbia, Canada in 1989, 1994 and 2000, respectively. His research is focused on image and video processing, computer vision, multimedia signal compression and communications, medical image processing and hardware architectures for image/video processing.

Mingchen Yang

M.Sc. Student

My research area is image processing and computer vision based on deep learning. I mainly study anomaly events detection in videos using generative adversarial networks. Currently, I’m doing a co-op in Bell as a data science BI.

Behnam Rahmatikaregar

Ph.D. Candidate

Behnam Received his M.Sc. in 2019 and B.Sc. in 2017 both in electrical engineering and from the Sharif University of Technology. His research areas include image processing, segmentation of medical images, deep neural networks, and signal processing. Since September 2019, he is working as a Ph.D. student on the automatic segmentation of cardiovascular images.

Mahsa K. Elyaderani

Ph.D. Student

Mahsa received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in computer engineering and software engineering from Isfahan University of Technology(IUT), Iran. She comes from machine learning and computer vision background and currently works on audio models,  such as language identification models from audio and  audio inpainting using sequential and  generative models.

Shima Rafiei

Ph.D. Student

Shima previously studied her M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Artificial intelligence and software engineering from Isfahan University of Technology.  Her research interests mainly center around machine learning, image processing, and data science. Currently, she is pursuing her research on the compression and generation of computer-generated holograms.

Yasaman Torabi

Ph.D. Student

Yasaman obtained her B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology. Her primary research interests are biomedical signal and biosensors. Specifically, she is working on analysis of biomedical signals using machine learning techniques. Her thesis project involves analyzing heart and lung sounds, obtained from patients using wireless sensors.
