Shahram Shirani
Principle Investigator
Dr. Shahram Shirani received his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology, Iran, and his Master of Science (with honor) in Biomedical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology, Iran and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from University of British Columbia, Canada in 1989, 1994 and 2000, respectively. His research is focused on image and video processing, computer vision, multimedia signal compression and communications, medical image processing and hardware architectures for image/video processing.
Shamim Mobram
Ph.D. Candidate
Shamim is a PhD student specializing in Multimodal Large Language Models (LLMs), Recommendation Systems, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). Her research explores how to better understand and retrieve multimodal content, enabling more accurate and context-aware recommendations. Before starting her PhD, she earned a master’s degree from K. N. Toosi University of Technology, where she worked on machine learning approaches for detecting depression based on speech processing.
Amin Manouchehrpour
Ph.D. Candidate
Amin received his M.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from McMaster University in 2023 and his B.Sc. from the University of Tehran in 2020. His research areas encompass image processing, deep neural networks, and natural language processing. Currently pursuing a Ph.D., Amin’s primary research focuses on deformable neural networks applied to geometrically distorted images, with applications in medical imaging. Since 2024, he has expanded his research to include the similarity matrix of markup languages using large language models and the automated transformation of APIs.
Jingke Sun
M.Sc. Student
Jingke received her B.Sc. in Computer Science and Technology from Tianjin University of Technology. Her research interests focus on deep learning and computer vision. Currently, she is working on her thesis project, which involves tumor recognition and segmentation in MRI images.
Shima Rafiei
Ph.D. Candidate
Shima previously studied her M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Artificial intelligence and software engineering from Isfahan University of Technology. Her research interests mainly center around machine learning, image processing, and data science. Currently, she is pursuing her research on the compression and generation of computer-generated holograms.
Yasaman Torabi
Ph.D. Candidate
Yasaman obtained her B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology. Her primary research interests are biomedical signal and biosensors. Specifically, she is working on analysis of biomedical signals using machine learning techniques. Her thesis project involves analyzing heart and lung sounds, obtained from patients using wireless sensors.
Mahsa K. Elyaderani
Ph.D. Candidate
Mahsa received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in computer engineering and software engineering from Isfahan University of Technology(IUT), Iran. She has a background in machine learning and computer vision and currently works on speech processing models. Her research focuses on developing deep learning systems to reconstruct speech audio from multi-modal inputs, leveraging audio-visual learning to enhance speech quality and intelligibility under challenging conditions.
